A reconstruction of a Torvosaurus embryo

The most powerful weapons of Conard the Torvosaurus were its teeth and claws. Its teeth were sharp with serrated edges. These could pierce the flesh and bones of most prey. It had three claws on each forelimb. The keratinous claw on the first digit was as large and sharp as a sickle. Although its forelimb had only a limited swinging range, it could easily pull the prey towards its powerful mouth and prevent it from escaping. When Conard encountered its favorite prey it could deliver a fatal bite while the forelimbs held it firmly.

In Portugal, scientists discovered a dinosaur nest with dinosaur embryos inside. They concluded these were Torvosaurus’s eggs, judging from one of the their maxillary bones.
