About PNSO

PNSO was founded in Beijing on June 1, 2010 by scientific artist ZHAO Chuang and children’s science author YANG Yang. The studio researches and creates scientific art based on the latest scientific research.

A few months later they launched The Stories on Earth (2010–2070) — a 60-year plan to tell accurate, engaging stories about species, environments, communities and cultures across Earth’s past, present and future.

Published — work by PNSO staff has appeared in Nature, Science and Cell, and has been cited by hundreds of well-known media outlets.

Exhibited — joint exhibitions with the American Museum of Natural History, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the City Museum of Nottingham and the Chongqing Museum of Natural History.

Shared — international projects with the World Young Earth Scientist Congress and the Earth Science Matters Foundation.

From scientific art to collectible models

PNSO also designs collectible models of prehistoric animals. Each figure is hand-painted, and most come with a scientific-art poster and an illustrated manual.

  • Prehistoric Animal Models — the numbered collection. They aren’t made to a fixed scale, so every model’s size is listed in the shop.

  • Museum Series — 1:35 exhibit sets (a few at 1:45) with display platforms, posters and manuals.

  • Sculptures — Desktop Series head portraits (1:10 and 1:15) and limited-edition Gallery Series bronzes.

Sold in the U.S. through PNSO’s Amazon store. Art Collection pieces are available on this website. Questions? Contact us.
