Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PNSO Yiniao Sci-Art Era USA, LLC ("PNSO USA," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website, https://usa.pnso.org (the "Site"). It also explains your choices. The Site showcases PNSO's collectible prehistoric-animal models and is hosted on Squarespace.

Information We Collect

Information you give us. We collect the information you choose to share with us when you:

  • Contact us. Our contact form asks for your first name, last name, email address, a subject, and your message. Submissions are emailed to contact@usa.pnso.org and stored in our Squarespace account. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and message.

  • Sign up for our newsletter. We ask only for your email address. We then send you a confirmation email, and you are added to our list only after you confirm (this is called "double opt-in"). Subscribers are stored in a Squarespace mailing list, and we may use Squarespace's email marketing tools to send newsletters about new product launches. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.

  • Buy from our Art Collection. A small number of pieces, such as a limited-edition bronze sculpture, can be purchased directly on the Site through Squarespace Commerce checkout. For these orders, we collect your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, and order details. Card payments are processed by Stripe, and we do not receive or store your full card number.

  • Create a customer account. Customer accounts are optional and are provided by Squarespace Commerce through the "Login" link on the Site. If you create an account, Squarespace stores your account details and order history.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, some information is collected automatically:

  • Usage and device information. Squarespace collects visitor analytics, such as the pages you view, the website that referred you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location based on your IP address.

  • Cookies. Squarespace sets cookies, as described in "Cookies and Analytics" below.

  • Security information. To help protect forms, logins, and checkout from spam and fraud, Squarespace may use security services such as Google reCAPTCHA, which may collect information about your browser and device.

Purchases on Amazon. Most of our products are sold through PNSO's Amazon store. When you follow a link to Amazon, you leave the Site and go to Amazon, where Amazon's own privacy notice applies. Some of our links to Amazon may include tracking codes that let Amazon report to us, in aggregate, how many visits and purchases came from the Site. These reports do not identify you, and we do not receive your Amazon account or payment details.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your questions and requests, including wholesale and museum inquiries

  • Send newsletters about new product launches to people who have opted in

  • Process and ship Art Collection orders and provide customer service

  • Prevent fraud and keep the Site secure

  • Understand how the Site is used so we can improve it

  • Comply with our legal obligations

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small text files that websites store in your browser. Squarespace sets cookies that the Site needs to work, such as cookies that keep track of your shopping cart, help keep the Site secure, and balance traffic across servers. Squarespace may also use cookies to count visits for its visitor analytics, which we view in aggregate form (for example, total page views and top referring websites) to understand how the Site is used.

We do not use Google Analytics, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, or any advertising or retargeting cookies.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you do, some parts of the Site, such as the shopping cart and checkout, may not work properly.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (ads targeted to you based on your activity across other websites and apps). We share personal information only in these situations:

  • Service providers. We share information with companies that perform services for us: Squarespace for website hosting, forms, checkout, customer accounts, email, and analytics; Stripe for payment processing; and shipping carriers for delivering Art Collection orders.

  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information when required by law, such as in response to a subpoena, court order, or other legal process.

  • Protecting rights and safety. We may disclose information when we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of PNSO USA, our customers, or others.

  • Business transfers. If PNSO USA is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of its business, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Do Not Track

Some web browsers offer a "Do Not Track" ("DNT") setting that tells websites you do not want your online activity tracked. Because there is no common industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, the Site does not currently respond to them. We do not track visitors across third-party websites over time for advertising, and the Site does not use advertising or retargeting cookies.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as we reasonably need it for the purposes described in this policy. In general:

  • Inquiries. We keep messages as long as needed to respond to you and for reasonable record-keeping.

  • Newsletter. We keep your subscription information until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep only what we need to honor your opt-out.

  • Orders. We keep Art Collection order records as long as needed for tax, accounting, and legal purposes.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information. However, no method of sending or storing information over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Our prehistoric-animal models appeal to fans of all ages, but the Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not send us any personal information; instead, ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information, please email us at contact@usa.pnso.org, and we will delete it.

Your Choices and Rights

We offer these choices to everyone who uses the Site, regardless of where they live:

  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails. You can stop receiving our newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by emailing us at contact@usa.pnso.org.

  • Review, correct, or delete your information. To see the personal information we have about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it, email us at contact@usa.pnso.org. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request, and we may keep some information where the law requires it.

  • Manage your customer account. If you have a customer account, you can also sign in through the "Login" link to review and update your account information.

International Visitors

If you visit the Site from outside the United States, your information will be processed and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

Links to Other Websites

The Site links to websites and services we do not control, including Amazon and our pages on Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube. Those services have their own privacy policies, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date at the top. If we make material changes, we will also provide a more prominent notice on the Site.
